Solar energy/power companies in the stock market?
are there are companies in the stock market, if so what is their symbol?
There are several; the biggest are in Europe.
The easiest way to find specific companies would be to look at listings/profiles for ETFs or mutual funds that specialize in alternative energy, and see where they are investing. The symbols for some of those are:
GEX, PHO, PBW, GAAEX.
You might want to look at wind companies as well; the turbine industry for windmills is booming.
What has been done to encourage a wider uptake of solar power/energy?
Worldwide.
Many states have rebates or other subsidy programs. Arizona has, through the utility companies programs that almost cut the initial cost in half. Great, huh? Problem is, even with the subsidy, your break even time is almost 20 years. I looked at the expected life of the panels and it was 10 years!
Greed rules when the government tries to help us. Every time subsidies are made, the price goes up because everybody thinks the government has limitless supplies of money.
Powerful Solar Power Charger Enough To Get Laptop Going
Let the sun charge your cell phone. [ http://www.chinavasion.com/product_info.php/pName/high-capacity-solar-charger-and-battery-20000mah/ ]
Why is it that cell phones can get emergency power supplies and have solar panels to get them going again, after all bigger gadgets, like laptops need emergency power booster power too. [ http://www.chinavasion.com/product_info.php/pName/high-capacity-solar-charger-and-battery-20000mah/ ]
Who would like this: Travelers, business travelers and people interested in alternative energy sources to power their gadgets.
What eBay keywords can I use:
Solar, solar power, solar energy, solar panels, solar powered , solar charger, solar battery, solar electricity, solar collector, solar technology, renewable energy, alternative energy
There has been a veritable sun burst of solar technology on the market as of late. Almost every electronics company in the solar system has come out with some kind of emergency power up/ solar charger of some sort. Unfortunatly most of the solar panels on the market are rather undercharged and will only handle a measly MP4 player or a easy-to-charge Cell phone. If your notebook went down on the road and you needed an emergency power up, then you were pretty much stuck. Well the wholesale China electronics manufacturers may have come up with something to solve that problem.
The high capacity solar charger battery has the power to handle a power up for most laptops and larger devices. With a capacity of 74W/h you’re going to be able to get your notebook battery from zero charge to full in just a couple of hours giving you a bit more life when you’re on the road.
This solar powered dynamo comes is pretty flexible too, coming with a whole range of fittings for pretty much phone and laptop power input imaginable from the clean energy source known as the sun. The solar collector works with different voltages and the solar battery can be set to either16V, 18V, 22V or 24V outputs.
This solar battery is not content getting it’s renewable energy from the sun. Solar energy is not its only source and you’re also able to draw power from an AC connection. Now that’s what I call alternative energy sources.
This is a wholesale solar solution like no other.

See Through Solar Cells
Fifty years inthe making, solar-power cells are still flat, rigid, and ugly. But new research shows how they could be made lightweight, flexible, and transparent. These innovations could expand solar-cell use to things like solar fabrics and power generating windows.

Should green homes with solar power, energy savings technology?
Tax exemptions to homes designed to save and create energy shoul be a national debate.
I don’t even see the need to debate- they should be provided incentives to build them. It costs to build the technology into the homes, but once built they pay for themselves in savings.
Do you mean that discussion should be encouraged? yes by all means. And you’re doing that. thank you! Now write you legislators at all levels until one of them does something about it.

small residential solar power system
short video describing a small solar power system that i set up at my house. it consists of twelve 1 amp solar panels (15 watts each for a total of 180 watts of power – per hour). i use it to run all lights (CFL’s), fans, tv’s, and stereos in the house. also the microwave, coffee maker, blender, can opener, sandwich grill, toaster, vacuum, computer and anything else i can think of. run time for lights/fans only is approx 8 hours. add in vacuuming, microwaving or toaster along with lights, tv and the fans and the run time is reduced to 4-5 hours a day. i bought solar panels, inverter (1000 watt) and killowatt meter at Harbor Freight tools, the batteries (deep cycle) from walmart and the battery cables from checker auto. total cost was about $1200 to $1300

China reduces solar power costs with large-scale manufacturing
Over the past decade, China has become the world’s leading manufacturer of solar energy technologies; China’s solar manufacturers have helped drive down the cost of solar power around the world with their large-scale production facilities and solar panel exports. In October, ClimateWorks traveled to China to get a sense of the scale of China’s solar manufacturing efforts and talk to some local experts about China’s goals for dramatically scaling up its domestic deployment of solar energy technologies.
