Solar Electric PV Car Automobile – Sun Sprint 2000
Solar energy can power vehicles. Anyone can build their own model solar powered car with an inexpensive PV panel and a small electric motor. Larger versions that carry an adult as seen in the “Solar Challenge” and “Race the Sun” contests.
Building model solar cars can be done by children students from ages 10 to adult. Subjects can be global warming, climate change, peak oil, energy supply, photovoltaics, and the future.

Installing Photovoltaic Solar Power at Home
This vid shows the various steps in planning and having a company (Real Goods Carlson: http://www.realgoodssolar.com/campaigns/current/affiliate/?a_aid=blimylimey&a_bid=fbb2295d) install photovoltaic solar electric power in my rear yard in San Diego; definitely more challenging than a roof installation. My rationale for this: reduce my carbon footprint, buy / own my energy (like I do my house), help address CA’s energy shortfall and take advantage of the state and US government incentives for early adopters to save on the installation.
